After all the anticipation of opening the first Advent Calendar windows yesterday, we’re relieved it’s the weekend – we need a lie-in after all that over-excitement! But there’s no let-up in the fun. It’s Day 2, and therefore time to explore some more awesome drams…

White Oak Akashi Blended Whisky: A blend of malt and grain whiskies from Japan (not the molasses-based version available domestically), White Oak Akashi offers all kinds of Cherry Bakewell tart, walnut and dried fruit notes, all bundled up with a warm spiciness reminiscent of a good rye. Interesting stuff.
