Jings crivens and what a year it has been…
So much so we don’t know where to begin. Over the past 12 months, our 3cl drams have travelled the world, popping up all the over the place and generally spreading the word, like tiny, liquor-filled boozevalengists.
We’ve been featured by BBC GoodFood, the Daily Mail, the Huffington Post(which named our Whisky-Filled Advent Calendar as 4th worst Advent Calendar, sadly below One Direction’s stellar 2014 offering offering) and The Independent.
2014 saw the aforementioned spirits-filled Advent Calendars with a brand new look, thanks to the incredible graphic artist Duncan Beedie. Duncan drew a satirical 1950s-esque Yuletide scene featuring a moustachioed gentleman enjoying a dram by the fire, and cleverly altered the scene for each spirit type. You’ll see a Mexican ranch owner for Tequila; a Pirate Captain for Rum (with a little tribute to the dearly missed Robin Williams); a Secret Agent in an igloo for Vodka; a landed gentry-type for our Premium Whisky offering; and a debonair Parisian for Cognac. We reckon they’re our best yet, and the contents include some truly staggering spirits.
In other news, we released our own spirits-filled Christmas Crackers containing award-winning 3cl spirits samples, novelty paper hats and obligatory dreadful jokes. We’re proud to say The Guardian rated our Christmas Cracker jokes 5/5 (aka flawless victory). You can also read a lovely write-up in The Telegaph’s Luxury section here.
Named “Best Innovation - New Brand” at the World Whiskies Design Awards 2013, we continue to add to our wonderful range of Tasting Sets. In fact, 2014 saw the rise of some incredible new sets, including a fascinating History of Gin set we made in conjunction with blog Gin Monkey, as well as legendary craft spirit-makers such as Professor Cornelius Ampleforth, Balcones Distilling, Spirit of Hven and Filliers, among others.
So, on behalf of everyone at Drinks by the Dram, we’d like to say a big thank you to you, our customers, for all our success these past months. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and the best of luck for 2015!
